Are you looking for a cat friend? There are a few considerations you need to make before selecting a feline as your "Purrfect" companion. Are you ready for a kitten or do you think you want to skip the kitten stage and go straight for a full grown mature feline. There are positives and negatives to both. Kittens are positively adorable, playful and full of energy. They can be a big pain in the but too. They have very sharp little pin like claws. This one fact can and will most likely ruin you home not to mention you skin. Would declawing be an option for you? It is possible to find a older feline at the shelter or classified ads that has already had its claws removed. It might be neutered or spayed. These procedures can be a very costly expense that would save you a lot of money. If you are to go this wrought, find out for certain why the animal is at the shelter in the first place. I have to often seen someone get this new pet just to find out that they just adopted someone else's problem. That is why the animal is there. Someone got rid of a problem pet. That is not the case for most of the pets you will find but it sure is something to think about.

I am proof fact to that. I have 2 pets I rescued from euthanasia and they both have big problems. I still love them dearly but I really don't think if I would have known that I would have adopted. Well maybe one of them. (OK, both of them)

Either way you go the pet will need regular visits to a health care provider, annual vaccines and a balanced diet. Not to mention your dedication and love.
